NORTH BANGOR – Billy J. Baker, 55, passed away Wednesday (Sept 20, 2017) at his home being comforted by his family. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Born April 12, 1962 in Malone the son of Harry & Betty (Butchino) Baker. He attended North Bangor Central School, graduating from Franklin Academy in 1981. September 12, 1981 Billy enlisted in the Army National Guard retiring November 1, 2001 after 20 years of service. On August 7, 1982 he united into marriage with Tammy LaValley at St. Augustine's Church, North Bangor. Billy was a hard worker, and worked for many businesses in the area. Due to illness he had to retire from Johnston's Building Materials. Billy's positive up beat personality could brighten up any room. He cared for people with an unconditional heart, and brought a smile to many families, friends and strangers.
Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his wife Tammy, his daughter Jessica and her life companion Amanda Demers of North Bangor, and his mother and father-in-law Lawrence & Janet LaValley of North Bangor. He is also survived by two granddaughters or as Billy referred to them as "My two beautiful angels" Kaylei and Hannah.
His siblings Rickey Baker of Highland, NY, Tony (Judy) Baker of Ogdensburg, Michael (Cindy) Baker of Moira, Steven (Donna) Baker of North Bangor, Dale (Tina) Baker of Brushton, Susan Wilson of North Bangor, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by his many brother-in-law's and sister-in-law's.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by two brother Stanley Baker and Stewart Baker.
A time of visitation will be held Friday (Sept. 22) from 6-9 at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12 noon at St. Augustine's Church, North Bangor, with the Rev. Raymond Moreau presiding. Interment will commence in the parish cemetery where the American Legion Post #939, will offer military honors.
