MOIRA – Gerald E. White, 83, passed away Thursday (Oct. 26, 2017) at the Alice Hyde Medical Center. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Born May 28, 1934, in Brushton the son of the late Eli & Lena (Montroy) White. He was educated in Brushton. On June 24, 1967 Gerald united into marriage wth Evelyn LaBelle. Gerald was a hard working man who could do just about anything. Early in life he worked on farms, construction during the development of the Seaway, moving and setting up house trailers, drove dump truck, school bus, and worked for the Town of Bombay. After 22 years of service Gerald retired from Salmon River Central School as Arena Maintenance.
Gerald was a huge fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr., LA Dodgers, country music, and reading Westerns. He loved coaching and watching softball games.
Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his wife Evelyn, his children Brian and his girlfriend Chris Grant of South Bombay, and Cathy White and her companion Robert Brown of Malone.
He is predeceased by his only sibling Earle (Bud) White.
He is survived by an Aunt Rosetta Frank in Texas and Aunt Janet White, Beverly White of Rochester, and a sister-in-law Elizabeth Drumm of Malone . He will be missed by his wifes sibling John & Linda LaBelle of Bombay, Arthur Mayville of Ft. Covington, and Merle Winters of Bangor, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday (Oct. 30) at 1 p.m at St. Mary's Church, Brushton with the Rev.Raymond Moreau presiding. Interment will commence in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bombay.
