Cyril E. Winters

NORTH BANGOR –Cyril E. Winters, 83, was received into the arms of Jesus on Sunday (Dec. 3, 2017) at the Fletcher Allen Medical Center surrounded by the love and support of his family. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.

A time of visitation will be held Friday (Dec. 8) from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Flint Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday (Dec. 9) 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will commence in Sunnyside Cemetery, where the American Legion Post 939 will offer military honors.

Cyril was born November 21, 1934, in Bangor the son of Alton & Bessie (Burnap) Winters. He graduated from Brushton –Moira High School in 1954 where he was voted class clown with his high school friend Isabelle Dorey. In 1954 he enlisted into the United States Army where he was stationed in Hawaii. Cyril was employed with the Reynolds Metals Company for over 30 years. March 1, 1975 Cyril entered into marriage with Brenda Gregorio at the First Christian Church, Brushton. From 1992 – 2007 he was employed at the office of the aging and public transit. He worked for Kinney Drug Store delivering Medications for 5 years. During his retirement he assisted for meals on Wheels three days a week.

He was an avid outdoors man, who loved doing puzzles and spending time with his family and friends.

Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his wife Brenda and his chldren; Anna M. Castleman of Ft. Covington, Donald E. Winters of Oklahoma City, Keith A. (Judy) Winters of North Bangor, Michael L. (Jessica) Winters of North Bangor, Dorene G. Raimondo of Moira, Marcy L. (Tony) Lamica of Westville, and Maureen (Brent) Childs of Bangor. Also survivng him are 23 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His siblings Merle Winters of Massena and Brice (Betty) Winters of Bangor, two brother-in-laws Anthony (Pamela) Gregorio and Jospeh (Krissy) Gregorio survive him.

Besides his parents he is predeceaed by a brother Clayton and a sister in law Elvira Winters, a sister Wanda and brother in-law Bernard Woods, sister-in-law Joyce Winters and two son-in-laws Ernest Mitchell II and Glenn Castleman.
