Obituary of Herbert Hughs
MOIRA – Herbert "Herbie" R. Hughs, 77, passed away at his home Monday (Mar. 27, 2017) where he had been in failing health. Arrangments are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Born August 14, 1939, in Callicoon, NY the so to Herbert W. and Genieve (Milk) Hughs. He was a 1953 graduate of Delware Valley Central, and later joined the United States Army where he served in Germany. In 1959 he united into marriage with Gertrude Foster she passed away in 1999. For many years Herbie was a New York State police officer. He worked in the Malone, Massena and Canton area.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #939, and the NRA. He was an avid gun collector, coin collector, and at one time bowled on many bowling leagues.
Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his son Roger (Suzanne) Hughs of Bernardston, Mass; his companion Cheryl David, and his grandchildren Timothy, Emery; step grandchildren, Tiffany, Jamie, Corey Ashleigh, Skye, and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his black lab Behr, who traveled with him where ever he went.

Besides his parents and wife he is predeceased by a son James who passed in 1982.
Friends are invited to call at the Flint Funeral Home Saturday (April 1, 2017) from 2-4. Funeral Services will commence at 4pm.
