Obituary of Rosemary Rockhill

MALONE – Rosemary G. Rockhill, 69, was united with her Lord and Savior Sunday morning (June 4, 2017).   Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.

Born May 24, 1948 in Fort Covington, the daughter of Lewis and Agnes (Snyder) Gardner.   On October 26, 1968 Rosemary united into marriage with Dean Rockhill at the Brushton United Methodist Church.   After marriage Rosemary obtained her GED, and graduated from North Country Community College with an associate's degree in mental health. Rosemary was instrumental in the daily operations of the family's restaurant, construction and coal companies as well as being a therapeutic foster parent for many years.  

Rosemary was a communicant of Brushton First Christian Church where she served as a hostess, Sunday school teacher, coordinated prayer lists and for over a decade hosted the Church-wide picnic at their home on the Riley road in Malone. She was well known for her baking, cooking and blessing people with food. 

Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her husband Dean; their children Philip and his wife Jessica of Gansevoort, NY; Tanya and her husband Joel Benware of St. Albans, Vt.  She is also survived by five grandchildren; Reid Rockhill, Porter Rockhill, Lexie Benware, Jacob Benware and Cooper Benware. 

Her siblings Joyce Richen, Joanne Mulverhill, and Beatrice Mulverhill all from Malone survive her.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by a sister Arlene Gardner.

A time of visitation will be held Thursday (June 8th)  from 11:00-1:30 at the Brushton First Christian Church 45 Delancey Ave, Brushton, NY 12916.  Funeral services celebrating Rosemary’s life will commence at 1:30 p.m.  Interment will follow in Sunnyside cemetery.
