MOIRA – With heavy hearts the family of Theresa A. Russell, 80, announces her passing on Wednesday (Feb. 21, 2018) at her home. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
A time of visitation will be held Monday (Feb. 26) from 10-11a.m at St. Mary's Church Brushton. Funeral services will commence at 11:00. Interment will take place May 11, 2018, trv 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Born July 2, 1937 in Massena the daughter of Wilfred T. & Beatrice I. (Fetterly) Groulx, she was a graduate of Massena Central High School. Theresa united into marriage on May 11, 1957 with Lawrence Russell at the Sacred Heart Church, Massena. For most of Theresa life she would assist her husband on the family farm.
Theresa faithfully attended Mass, she was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed watching TV with her son Jeff, reading her books, scratching her lotto tickets, going to the casino with her girls.
Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her sister Alice Meyre of Baldwin NY, her children Jeffery Russell of Moira, Alan (Peggy) Russell of Massena, Lori Russell and her companion James Lentola of Moira, Kevin (Robin) Russell of Moira, and Joseph (Linda) Russell of Moira. She is also survived by her seven beloved grandchildren Jessica (John) Mattison of Massena, Alan Russell Jr. and his companion Nicky Young of Massena, Erin Gonyea and her companion Chris Sharrow, of Saranac, Michelle (Jake) Sprankle of St. Regis Falls, Raynie Delosh of Moira, Sadie Russell of Moira, Joey Russell of Moira, Lisa Anderson of Marietta, South Carolina, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Through life Theresa created a special friendship with Betty Russell of Moira and her sister-in-law June (Edward) White of Moira.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband Lawrence who passed away on Dec. 15, 1990, a daughter Lynn who passed away during her infancy, and a brother Theodore, Groulx .
