Obituary of Kim M. Warner
MOIRA – Kim M. Warner, 60, a lifelong resident of Moira passed away on October 18, 2018 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends as she lost her battle with Cirrhosis.
The child of Peter and Nancy (Hourihan) Warner, she was born on July 13, 1958 in Malone, New York.
Kim was a 1976 graduate of Brushton - Moira Central School where she forged many lifelong friendships. She worked various jobs in the area until 1982 when she found her calling becoming a caregiver for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness with Edgewood 12 in Saranac Lake.
She later joined North Star Industries and became part of the "Webster House" family. Kim remained with North Star for 30 plus years until her illnes forced her to retire in 2017.
Kim was blessed in December of 1984 with her only child, a daughter, Amanda. Being a doting mother, she supported Amanda in her many activities and adventures. In doing so, Kim was a director for the Brushton –Moira Community Sports Program, in which she coached both soccer and softball. She was a director for the Shamrock's Figure Skating Association and helped in organizing local Gillespie Pageants. When she was not on the sidelines cheering for her daughter, she was taking her nephews on the most memorable camping trips.
In the years that followed Kim developed her own interests, she remained active in arranging reunions for the Class of "76", was a member of the local Red Hats Society, and helped to organize and direct the Moira Heritage Day Parades. She also became ordained so that she could perform marriage ceremonies of her two closest friends. Kim's favorite pastimes where going to bingo and traveling to Atlantic City with her partners in crime. In the past several years she organized her own Diamond Tours to Atlantic City.
In December of 2017 Kim got engaged to the love of her life, Larry White. He was her companion, caregiver and best friend who stood by her side until she took her last breath.
Above all Kim's favorite and most loved moments were those spent with her friends and family, especially her four grandchildren to whom she will forever be known as "Grammy".
Kim will be forever missed by her mother Nancy Warner, her daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Michael Barse, her fiancé Larry White, her sister and brother-in-law JoAnne and Randy Foley, her sister and her companion Mary Bilow and Jeff Dana, her brother and sister-in-law Peter and Dawn Warner, her beloved grandchildren Dustin, Preston, Mason, and Roslyn Barse, her nephews Cody and Jesse Bilow and niece Kaitlynne Warner.
She was predeceased by her father Peter Warner in 2001 and her nephew and godson Dylan Bilow in 2010.
A time of visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 12:00 at St. Joseph's Church, Bombay with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer presiding. Interment will commence in St. Mary's Cemetery, Brushton.
