MASSENA – With heavy hearts the family of Harold Stanton Dawley ,81, announce his passing unexpectedly Saturday (March 23, 2019) at his home. Local arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. Born July 31, 1937 at home in Madrid the son of the late John & Bernice (Ober) Dawley. He attended Madrid School. Upon graduation Harold entered the Army July 11, 1957 and was called back to service. Harold worked at the Nekoosa Edwards Papermill, later retiring from the St. Lawrence Seaway after 20+ years of service. Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his nephew Mark Hawkins, and son in law Jeff. Watching the weather channel, and enjoying a good hamburger and ice cream. He treasured the momentes with his family and friends especially his many grandchildren, great-granchildren especially the babies. Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of longtime companion Dwyana Scott of Massena, children Kerrie (Tony) Cooper of Madrid, Kathy (Terry) Pike of Madrid, David (Martina) Dawley of Tucson AZ, Diane LaRock and her companion Jeff Reifensnyder of Brasher Falls, Dawn (David) Cree of Akwesasne, Dayna (Thomas) Premo of Massena , 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren , and his former wife Betty Rupert Dawley of Madrid. He is survived by his siblings MaryAnn (Paul) Pryce of Potsdam, and Donald Dawley of Texas. Besides his parents he is predeceassed by two brothers Leon and Bill. A time of visitation will held Tuesday afternoon (March 26) from 1-3:45 p.m at the Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrew Street, Massena. Funeral Services will commence at 4pm at the funeral home.
