Obituary of John H. Rabideau

Auburn – John H. Rabideau, 89 of 138 Standart Ave. Auburn, NY., passed away Monday, April 22, 2019 at Auburn Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. He was born September 16, 1929 in Plattsburgh, NY., son of William and Lena (Lawless) Rabideau . John was united in marriage to Shirley Martin on February 11, 1950 with Fr. J.A. O'Brian presiding. Shirley predeceased him on February 26, 2013. After spending 33 years in the north country, John and Shirley relocated to central New York in 1964. His working career consisted 32 years at Garlock Sealing Technologies in Palmyra, NY where he retired in 1996. However, spending time with his family was his most treasured moments, along with those winters in Deland, FL with his wife, Shirley, family and friends. John also, loved the outdoors and to putter on many of his worry projects. He was of the Catholic faith. Precious memories will be forever in the hearts of his children Robert (Karen Cabic) Rabideau of Fort Myers, FL, Lynne (Dana) Allen of Port Byron, NY, and Roderick (Susan) Rabideau of DeBary, Fl. He also touched the lives of his eight grand-children Robert, Alison, Michael, Meghan, Courtney, Nathan, Chris and Meghan and eleven great-grandchildren Olivia, Nicholas, Quinn, Eva, Caitlyn, Addison, Everett, Tyler, Samantha, Spencer and Charles. John is also survived by three brothers Charles (Barbara) Rabideau, Zephyrhills, FL; Richard (Tomi) Rabideau, Oceanside, CA and Martin (Audrey) Rabideau Malone and one sister Laura Remington Canton. John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 63 years, by six brothers, Roswell, William, David, Harold (Pete), Floyd and Joseph (Norman) and five sisters Elizabeth Daggett, Norma Russell, Leona Scharf, Wilda Cutler and Jean Hetrick. A time of visitation will be held Sunday May 26, from 11-1 at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. Funeral Services will commence at 1:00 p.m. Followed by a graveside service at St. Mary's Cemetery in Brushton, NY.
