Obituary of James Baleno

BRUSHTON – With heavy hearts the family of James H. Baleno, 77, announce his passing on Monday morning (July 22, 2019) with his family at his side. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.

Born in Rochester on January 19, 1942 the son of the late Joseph and Charolette (Rusaw) Baleno Sova. He was a graduate of St. Lawrence Central School. Jim united into marriage with Virginia Thornton on May 29, 1965 in Stockholm, NY. Jim enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960 and was honorably discharged from duties in 1966. He enjoyed fishing and riding around the the area and could often be seen at the Eisenhower Locks looking at the ships. However he enjoyed a good conversation with his many family and friends.

Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his wife Virginia, and his children Sabrina (Bill) Green of Westville, James (Trista) Baleno of Malone, Michael (Jamie) Baleno of Brushton. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

His sibings Joseph Baleno of Caladonia, NY, John Baleno of Florida, and Joyce Judd of Brookdale survive him.

A time of visitation will be held Sunday ( July 28th) from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.

Jim's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Church St. Regis Falls. Burial will commence in Carville Cemetery, Helena.

Memorial contributions in Jim's honor may be made to the America Legion Post # 939.
