Obituary of Harvey Rousseau

North Bangor – Harvey H. Rousseau, 81, was born into his new life Thursday July 28, 2016, at The Alice Center. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.

Born September 12, 1934 in Malone NY, the son of Harvey J. & Rose (Dame) Rousseau, he was educated locally. Harvey enlisted into the United States Air Force on November 21, 1951 and was honorably discharged November 22, 1955. During his service time Harvey was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. On November 26, 1955 he united into marriage with Pauline Barney, and the couple raised their five children. Harvey was a proud democrat and made his life’s journey to care for all working men and women by being instrumental in bringing Unions to their work place. He carried signature cards and obtained the necessary signatures needed to bring the local SEIU to the many healthcare working who were employed at the Alice Hyde Medical Center. He was a life time Member of the American Legion Post # 219, and at one time the AMVETS.

Harvey was one of God’s advocates who proclaimed the Holy Scriptures encouraging all to be born again. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!!!” II Corinthians 5:17 NIV. This biblical passage was Harvey’s own mission statement and he shared it freely to many as he handed this verse out to thousands of people on cards.

Special memories will be forever in the hearts of his children Michael (Ann) Rousseau of Malone, Mary Ann (Mark) Niles of North Bangor, Lisa (James) Sword of Texas, Diana (Randy) Cox of Brushton, and Zana Rousseau of North Bangor. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
