Obituary of George L. Niles

BOMBAY - With heavy hearts, the family of George L. Niles, 82, announces his passing on Friday (May 8, 2020) at Massena Memorial Hospital with his wife and daughter by his side. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. Born September 5, 1937 in Cornwall Ontario the son of Orin and Marjorie (Chenier) Niles. In 1955 George enlisted into the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1958. On October 16, 1965 George united into marriage with Patricia Rouselle at St. Joseph's Church Bombay. George worked at various places in his life time however he retired from Gilden (formerly Tru-Stitch) after many years of service in 2007, as a mechanic. At one time he served as a town councilman for the Town of Bombay. He was a life time member of the Brushton-Moira American Legion Post 939. George enjoyed meeting up with his friends at McDonalds at the "Table of Knowledge" where they would have coffee and many laughs, and Sunday meals with the Oakes family. He most enjoyed congregating at his camp with his family and friends, and almost anyone who ever met him was extended an invitation. Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his wife Patricia, and his children Christopher (Debbie) Niles of Valrico Florida, Christal Niles and her fiancé Ted Richards of Massena. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Corey Niles, Bethany Harte, Adam Niles, Nicholas Niles, Kolton Richards, a chosen grandson Brent Oakes, along with six great grandchildren. His siblings Kenneth Niles of Moira, Guy Niles of Parishville, June Niles, Diane Niles, Bonny Niles all of Ocala Florida survive him. Besides his parents he is predeceased by a sister Ruth Henderson.
