Obituary of Dorothy F Cox

MOIRA – With heavy hearts the family of Dorothy F. Cox, 88, passed away Thursday (Mar. 25, 2021) at the Alice Hyde Medical Center. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. Born October 15, 1932 in Little Rock Arkansas the daughter of Algernon and Marie Vaughan. After receiving her GED Dorothy continued her education and became an LPN at the South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, Mass. Dorothy united into marriage with Donald J. Cox on June 11, 1949 in Hawthorne Nevada. Donald and Dorothy enjoyed entertaining family and friends as Donald would play guitar and Dorothy would sing. He predeceased her on June 25, 2017. Dorothy loved playing cards, her daily newspaper crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, garage sales, bowling, and spending time with her family and friends. Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her children; Susan (Leland) Frazier of Moira, Holly (Billy) Reome of Constable, Jimmy (Andrea) Cox of East Middle Burro, Mass, Wayne and his companion Sherrie Dunkin of Virginia Beach, Ricky Cox of Canton, Mass, Brian Bridgewater Mass, Tom Berry of Brockton, Mass, 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her siblings Mary Lou Forrey of Boysie Idaho, Joanne Swartout of Lumberton Texas, and David Vaughan of Arkansas survive her. Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law Milton & Crystal Vaughan, two sister and brothers-in-laws Alice & Les Thomas and Patricia & Lewis Pavia. A time of visitation will be held Saturday (April 3rd) from 11-1 at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. A grave side service will commence at 1:30 at the Sunnyside Cemetery, Brushton, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Donald.
