MOIRA –The family of Patrick J. Curran, 84, announce his passing on Friday June 25, 2021, at his home. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. Pat was born January 13, 1937, in Moira the son of Martin and Elizabeth (Riley) Curran. He was a graduate of Moira High School. Pat united into marriage with Linda Lucas on September 12, 1964, at the Holy Cross Church, Hopkinton. She predeceased him on May 8, 2017. Pat was a long-time community member and will always be remembered for his dedication to the local Moira Vol. Fire Department. He joined the local fire department on April 2, 1957. Throughout his 64 years of service, he held numerous offices within the department. Later he became a deputy coordinator for Franklin County office of Emergency Services, and Fire Commissioner for the Moira Fire District. For 25 years he served as a deputy fire coordinator for Franklin County office of Emergency Services. Pat retired with over 30 years as a supervisor with the Germanetti Construction Company in Massena. He loved mowing his lawn and was dedicated to his family. Pat enjoyed traveling with his wife Linda and spending a couple of months in the winter in New Smyrna Beach Florida. Pat was a communicant of St. Mary's church and at one time served on the parish council. Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his children Kenneth (Lynn) Blair of Dingman, PA, Dawn (Ernie) Barney of Brushton, Patrick (Victoria) Curran of Townsend, MA, Kimberly Curran of New Smyrna Beach, Fl, and Kevin Curran of Buffalo, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren Eric Barney, Aaron Barney, John Blair, Kenneth Blair, Nicole Perkins, Alannah Curran, Martin Curran, along with 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving him is his only sister Rita Hutchins of Brushton. He is predeceased by his parents and his wife Linda. P.O Box 122, Moira, NY 12957 A time of visitation will be held Thursday (July 1, 2021) from 11-12:45 at St Mary's Church, Brushton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will commence within the parish cemetery where Pat will be laid to rest beside his wife Linda.
