BRUSHTON – Floyd L. Snyder, Sr. age 80, passed away Thursday (Jan. 27, 2022) at the Canton Potsdam Hospital. There will be a graveside service for Floyd in the spring at a time to be announced. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. Floyd was born in Malone the son of Archie and Navada Snyder. He attended school in Brushton. Floyd united into marriage with Thelma St. Hilaire, she predeceased him on July 22, 2016. Floyd was a long time entrepeneur in the area owning many businesses in Franklin and St. Lawrence County. For many years he owned an Auction and General store combination in Brasher, Stockholm and in Moira. He was known for his cedar oil distililation, which his son Floyd Jr. still operates today. Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his children Floyd Snyder Jr. of Brushton, James Snyder of St. Regis Falls, Barbara Randle of St. Regis Falls, Brenda Snyder of North Bangor, and Terry (Kimberly) Snyder of Bloomingdale. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. His siblings Gary Snyder, Gerald Snyder, Gaylord Snyder, Loranne Dewey, Shirley Snyder, Sylvia Snyder Flora Jean Snyder, Linda Cooke, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins survive him. Besides his parents he is predeceased by a daughter-in-law Judith Snyder. Memorial contributions may be made to the Moira Vol. Rescue Squad.
