MOIRA – Ethel Grace Gagnon "Grace" age 102, passed away at the UHMC Alice Center Sunday (Feb. 27, 2022). Grace's Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday March 4th at St. Mary's Church, Brushton at 11 a.m. A time of visitation will be held March 3rd from 4-7 at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. Burial will commence May 6th at 9:00 a.m. in the parish cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Raymond who predeceased her September 24, 1983. Grace was born September 28, 1919, in Malone the daughter of Clarence & Clara (Avery) Jones. She was educated at the Flanders School, Malone. September 15, 1937, she united into marriage with Raymond Gagnon. She enjoyed bowling at the Jarvis Lanes, and was a member of the Alter Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Brushton. Grace was loved by all who knew her and enjoyed all the frequent visits from her neighbors and friends. She was a devoted mother and loved her community. At one time she was employed at the Crossroads and the Hotel Moira as a cleaner. Grace was a huge supporter of the Moira Fire and Rescue Department. For many years she would volunteer and clean the station and was known for washing the fire and rescue trucks as well. Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her children Alta Tofte of Greer, SC, Beverly (Calvin) Francis of Danbury, CT, a daughter-in-law Anne Gagnon of North Bangor and a chosen son Wayne Brockway of Moira. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. Her sister Francis Kazmirski of Syracuse survive her along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by two sons Walter, David "Skip" a daughter-in-law Marie and a sister Eleanor Kazmirski.
