DICKINSON – A very special angel has returned to heaven. Odena J. (White) Jenkins passed away peacefully Friday (April 1, 2022) at her home surrounded by her family. Odena was born December 20, 1949, the youngest daughter of Stephen B. & Margaret J. (Eurto) White. She graduated from St. Joseph's School in 1968. In 1969, Odena married Donald L. Jenkins, Sr. Though this union did not last, four children resulted. In 1974, Odena graduated from North Country Community College having obtained her LPN degree for nursing. For many years she dedicated her life to caring for others working at a variety of health care facilities such as Alice Hyde Medical Center, North Star Housing Staff, Adirondack Medical Center, and after working private duty for a few years, retired. Even after retiring, she proudly maintained her license. Her only goal as a nurse was to provide her patients with the ultimate care and compassion. Odena was also active in the community for many years. Odena's Catholic faith was a mainstay in her life. She was known to have a rosary in every coat pocket. She prayed the rosary daily. Her faith was a source of strength and hope. She truly believed that with God all things were possible and that angels lived among us. Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts, mind, and on the tongues of her children Margaret (Magi) Jenkins of Massena, Lester Jenkins of Dickinson, Donald Jenkins, Jr. of Massena and Madeline (Madi) and Timothy Torrey of Moira. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her siblings Duane (Jackie) White of Brushton, Stewart White and his companion Sandy Clookey of Brushton, Brenda (Gary) Bombard of Ellenburg, Marlene (Carl) Smith of Dickinson Center, Clark White, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins survive her. Besides her parents she is predeceased by a great grandson Michael Bishop, daughter-in-law Lisa (Pembleton) Jenkins and her two siblings Dixie White and Theron (Butch) White, as well as Theron's wife Brenda White. A time of visitation will be held Friday (April 8th) from 4-7 at the Flint Funeral Home Moira.
