BRUSHTON – Funeral services for Erma Rose Russell age 90 will be held Saturday (September 3rd) at 11 a.m. at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. A time of visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 9-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Erma entered into rest August 26, 2022, at her home with the love of her family at her side. She was born January 3, 1932, in Brandon, NY the daughter to Earl and Bertha Ann (Trim) Barber. She attended school in Bangor later at Franklin Academy. On June 4, 1949, she united into marriage with Clement J. Russell, Jr. he predeceased on December 3, 1989. Later in life she enjoyed the companionship of LeRoy Yaddow until he passed and then friended Stewart Sturgeon. She enjoyed spending time with her children and her many grandchildren. Erma loved to garden and pick strawberries for their garden stand. For the past 40 years of her life, she loved attending craft show sharing her crotched quilts, potholders, braided rugs and towels. Along with selling her preserves she enjoyed visiting with everyone who stopped by her booth. At one time she worked at Tru-Stitch however spending time at home being a mother was her true passion. Erma loved to play bingo and was a member of the Brushton Moira American Legion Auxiliary. Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her children Donnamae (Gary) Dumville, Sr. of South Bombay, Thomas (Kim) Russell of Moira, Debra (Gary) Yonkoski of Malone, Susan (Thomas) Kelley of Malone, James (Linda) Russell, Sr. of Ticonderoga, Belinda (Chad) Niles of Brushton, Janet (Shawn) Monette of South Bombay and a daughter-in-law Kitty Russell of Malone. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her brother Richard Barber and many nieces nephews and cousin's survive her. Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by three sons Gary Russell and Joseph Russsell, Peter Russell during his infancy, a sister Beaulah Rockhill and two brothers Howard and Henry Barber.
